LOSTPROPHETS Cancel U.K. Dates
July 27, 2003LOSTPROPHETS have been forced to cancel all of their previously announced U.K. dates in order to complete work on their new album, tentatively due in late 2003/early 2004 through Columbia Records. The as-yet-untitled effort is currently being mixed at a Los Angeles studio with producer Eric Valentine, who has previously worked with QUEENS OF THE STONE AGE, GOOD CHARLOTTE, THIRD EYE BLIND and JOE SATRIANI, among others.
The following is a message from LOSTPROPHETS singer Ian Watkins explaining the show cancellations:
"So as some of you already know, we have had to pull out of Reading, Leeds and the warm up shows. It sucks the big one, but it had to be done. We are still balls deep amongst the album and we simply wouldn't have had time to finish it if we were playing. We wouldn't have had any time to practice, and playing to 60,000 people as your first big show in 10 months with no rehearsal is ssttttuuupppiiidddddd training. Like I said in the press release, we aren't gonna short-change you by rushing anything, or playing half-assed. There's simply no point. If your gonna do it, then do it 100% mun innit. So that's where we are at the moment. We will probably reschedule the small shows, or do some like it in the next few months anyway, cause we do need to get back to playing. So it's not all bad. Y'know, when the time is right, you'll all feel it. And it will feel gooooooood."
